Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program

Breve

The Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) provides up to 40 hours of free engineering support to small Texas businesses facing technical challenges. Funded by the State of Texas and led by the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, SATOP connects companies with engineers from NASA, aerospace firms, and universities. BCIC serves as the regional contact for Brownsville and South Texas.

SATOP supports a wide range of engineering needs—mechanical, electrical, software, chemical, and more—helping businesses prototype, solve design issues, improve manufacturing processes, or evaluate materials. Businesses can also access student-led design teams through SATOP’s Capstone Program for complex projects.

To qualify, businesses must be based in Texas with fewer than 500 employees and have a clear engineering problem without an existing solution. Participation is free, and intellectual property remains with the business.
