{"id":3124,"date":"2022-10-10T21:11:21","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T21:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brownsvillecic.com\/?p=3124"},"modified":"2025-07-25T08:08:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T08:08:15","slug":"press-release-bcic-city-county-join-forces-to-assist-brownsville-businesses-affected-by-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brownsvillecic.com\/es\/press-release-bcic-city-county-join-forces-to-assist-brownsville-businesses-affected-by-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESS RELEASE: BCIC, City &#038; County join Forces to assist Brownsville Businesses affected by COVID-19."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE: Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC), along with several<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>other city organizations and departments, have joined forces to assist all businesses affected by<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>COVID-19 in Brownsville, Texas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS \u2013 March 17th, 2020<\/p>\n<p>As of March 13, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster in Texas due to<br \/>\nCOVID-19, and as a result has triggered several federal, state and local agencies to begin assisting<br \/>\nbusinesses with vital resources intended to assist those affected by the disease.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of ongoing developments, the BCIC has launched a new website, assist.brownsvilleedc.org,<br \/>\nfor businesses to register via email address or mobile number to receive resources immediately that<br \/>\ncan help alleviate the ongoing situations. The website also contains submittable forms where business<br \/>\nowners or managers can submit important information to the BCIC regarding their ongoing state of<br \/>\noperations. The data submitted by business owners in the community through this new website will<br \/>\nhelp all organizations and departments of the city continue to develop new programs that will help<br \/>\nabsorb some of the impact that is expected by COVID-19. In addition, the site will continue to update<br \/>\nthroughout the upcoming days and weeks to ensure all guidelines on behalf of the Central of Disease<br \/>\nControl (CDC) are available to the business community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community is built on the fabric of several businesses that have decided to locate in Brownsville,<br \/>\nTexas. It is not only imperative that we do our very best to provide our local businesses with the<br \/>\nneeded resources to withstand such events but also continue to provide the best servant leadership<br \/>\nand customer service they need to address the ongoing events\u201d said Nathan Burkhart, Director of Business Development<br \/>\nfor the BCIC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe health and wellness of our citizens is of the utmost importance. In that same vein the health and<br \/>\nwellness of our business community is equally important,\u201d says Michael Limas, Chair of the Board of<br \/>\nDirectors. \u201cBCIC is working diligently with our federal, state and local partners to maximize all<br \/>\nopportunities available to assist businesses during these challenge times.
