BROWNSVILLE, TX \u2013 The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) received their first ever private grant funding from the BBVA Foundation. The financial contribution of $6,500.00 will help underwrite general operating support for the organization.<\/p>\n
The announcement is immensely appreciated as the BCIC seeks to \u201copen its doors\u201d to financial support by leaders in the private sector who identify and align with our organization\u2019s strategic goals and focuses. The BCIC understands and firmly believes that successful economic development can only be accomplished through the support of all members of our business community throughout the region. It is only through their support that we can accelerate our community\u2019s growth and unlock its full potential.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the first private grant that BCIC has received, but we know it will not be the last,\u201d says Cori Pe\u00f1a, Director of Community Development. \u201cThis grant highlights the confidence the private sector has in BCIC and validates the importance of the programs, resources and incentives BCIC offers the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The mission of the BBVA Foundation is to bring the age of opportunity to everyone. As part of their commitment to the community, the grant works to help build strong and vibrant neighborhoods, improve the quality of life, and make a positive difference where families work and live.<\/p>\n
