BCIC Opens Applications for Final EDA-Funded Startup Texas Cohort at the eBridge Center

BCIC OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR FINAL EDA-FUNDED STARTUP TEXAS COHORT AT THE eBRIDGE CENTER

The last cohort under the EDA grant opens an eight-week application window and offers a program package valued at more than $200,000, including a full year of incubation at eBridge

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — June 22, 2026 — The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) has opened applications for the final cohort of Programming for Startup Texas funded through its U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant. The program runs from August 31, 2026, through Demo Day on December 10, 2026. Applications are open now through August 10, 2026.

This cohort closes the EDA-funded chapter of Startup Texas, making it a defining opportunity for founders in the region’s emerging industries. The program is geared toward companies in technology, manufacturing, healthcare, materials science, automation, aerospace, software, green energy, logistics, cybersecurity, digital health, e-commerce, and environmental technology.

Selected founders receive a program package valued at more than $200,000, covering the programming and a full year of incubation at the eBridge Center for Business and Commercialization in Brownsville. Participants meet for weekly mentorship sessions on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The program is delivered through BCIC’s partnership with the UTRGV Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC).

Applications are open for eight weeks, from June 22 through August 10, 2026. Interested founders can apply at http://startuptexas.org.
