BCIC and AFP Texas to Host Nonprofit Fundraising Workshop
BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Texas Coastal Bend Chapter will host “Reimagining Event Sponsorship: A New Approach for Fundraisers” on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the eBridge Center for Business & Commercialization.
The Lunch & Learn will help nonprofit professionals develop event sponsorships that connect a sponsor’s goals with an organization’s mission and measurable community impact.
The session will feature Amy Canterbury, Development Director for the American Heart Association Heart Ball. Canterbury will share practical approaches organizations can use to create stronger sponsorship packages, demonstrate value to potential partners, and build relationships that continue beyond the event.
Participants will learn how to:
Design sponsorship opportunities around mission, outcomes, and community impact
Use impact reporting, volunteer ambassadors, and professional networks to secure support
Evaluate sponsorship performance and clearly communicate results to sponsors
The program is intended for nonprofit professionals, development staff, organizational leaders, board members, volunteers, and others involved in fundraising or community partnerships.
Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. Virtual attendance is also available, and the program has been approved for Certified Fund Raising Executive continuing education credit.
Registration is required. When registering, attendees should select the AFP Member price, even if they are not currently AFP members. BCIC will cover the member-rate registration cost. Do not select the Future Member option.
